I also tried android-x86 within virtualbox, but for some reason some apps I needed didn't appear in the google store. My final goal is simply to run an android emulation, in order to install a few apps. I saw "Complete Installation Guide for Android SDK / ADT Bundle" as well, but I thought installing the whole android-studio gas-machine wasn't necessary. Is the ubuntu package completely out-of-date?
